The Phoenix Trail is a seven-mile path for cyclists, walkers, wheelchair users and horse riders, between Thame and Princes Risborough. In the future, it is expected to be extended as far as Oxford. It forms part of Route 57 of the National Cycle Network built by Sustrans, the civil engineering charity. (www.sustrans.org.uk)
The Phoenix Trail won an Arts and Business Award and was awarded a Certificate of Distinction from the European Commission as a European Greenway.

The Ridgeway National Trail, 87 miles (139km) through ancient landscapes. Over rolling, open downland to the west of the River Thames, and through secluded valleys and woods in The Chilterns to the east, following the same route used since prehistoric times by travellers, herdsmen and soldiers.

Wendover Woods is a large woodland with a network of trails for walking, cycling, horseriding and keep fit. The woods are the highest point in the Chilterns with good views and bluebell flowers in early May.

Thomley Activity Centre is a recreational facility for disabled children, their families, friends, schools and groups. Set in seven secure acres of countryside, Thomley enables children to learn through freely exploring outdoor play and music equipment, a 1km cycle track, play rooms and a soft play area, reading area, art and craft, IT and music activities. Thomley welcomes all children (0-16yrs) on community days which are held on the first Saturday of every month, as well as Fridays during school holidays. The purpose of community days is to encourage disabled and non-disabled children to play together, to promote a greater understanding of differing abilities.
We are also open to different groups from 10am – 3.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday, throughout the year. We also hold days for toddlers, the community and disabled adults.
